May 2025 | Version 10.48

Improved

  • When importing a Flowchart you are now able to differentiate the Flow steps instead of just specifying “Topic". The shape type is also pre-determined by the relationships of the shape.

  • Call outs inserted from the Visio Ribbon are now directly created as free shapes.

Fixed

  • When importing a Flowchart, the Mark Shapes form did not select the Start shapes.

  • When opening a copy of a model in selective mode and saving it, if the full model was opened after saving, views that were initially not opened were inadvertently recreated on the fly.

  • When saving a BPMN chart, "Glossaries” and "Milestones” topics were placed in the Recycle Bin.

  • Inserting a new flow step on a relationship after a Call-out shape was added from the Visio Ribbon, resulted in disconnected relationships. This happened for Flowcharts, BPMN, EPC and Crossfunctional Flowcharts.

Creating or recreating an ArchiMate model with many views

Why it was developed?
The speed of creating or recreating ArchiMate models with many views has been improved. This improvement was implemented to increase efficiency when setting up and adjusting complex models.

Added value:
Efficiency: With the accelerated creation and recreation of ArchiMate models, users can set up and adjust their models more quickly.

Use case scenario:  When an organization uses ArchiMate models to visualize its enterprise architecture. With the improved speed of creating and recreating models, architects can respond more quickly to changes in the organization and adjust the corresponding models.

Improved

  • Creating or recreating an ArchiMate model with many views underneath is now faster.

Fixed

  • In limited instances, double Subchart relationships were shown on the same ArchiMate View Topic. When opening now the affected View(s) or the full model, a patch is applied. The existing shapes are kept in the same page, and new View Topics are created on saving. Provisionally, the names of the new Topics are the initial name, prefixed with “[variant]-”.

  • When exporting an ArchiMate model, an error was displayed, and Visio was closed. Nevertheless, the export was completed successfully. The error is now removed.

December 2024 | Version 10.45

Fixed

  • We have corrected a few scenarios whereby a user is working with a Visio Stencil or Solution, and another Visio action is started. The user is now given a message to indicate this.

  • A progress bar was shown when opening or creating a chart while Visio was displaying the “Do you want to save” message.

  • When opening an ArchiMate chart, two progress bars were shown.

  • The Autosize function in Visio interfered with the Mavim chart resize algorithm. This resulted in unexpected behavior. As a result, we have disabled the Autosize function in Visio for all chart types except Generic Charts.

  • BPMN message flow shapes were sometimes not shown with the correct style in the Mavim Portal.

November 2024 | Version 10.44

New

  • A new option is available for Flowcharts, EPC charts and Crossfunctional Flow charts which allows the user to save all implicit flow relationships, present in the chart, as WhereTo / WhereFrom relationships in the database.
By default, this option is disabled.

If this option is disabled once more, new implicit flow relationships will no longer be saved to the database. Relationships already saved to the database while the option was enabled, will be kept.

Fixed

  • When connecting to a Mavim Manager topic, some dialogs showed the initially selected topic partially obscured by the horizontal scroll bar.

October 2024 | Version 10.43

Fixed

  • In a Generic chart, using the Change Shape menu in Visio resulted in detached links to shapes.

  • In BPMN collaborations when selecting and deleting multiple shapes, Visio displayed the message “Unexpected end of file”. The operation was then partially executed.

August 2024 | Version 10.42

Fixed

  • When creating a BPMN chart, the boundary events were wrongly shown on the left side of activities.

July 2024 | Version 10.41

Fixed

  • Charts with external data attached to the shapes failed to publish.

May 2024 | Version 10.40

Fixed

  • For some specific complex BPMN processes, the chart failed to save.

April 2024 | Version 10.39

Improved

  • When working with a chart in Visio in full screen mode, saving a chart could produce an "Apply Template" confirmation dialog. Mavim Manager is now given focus so the user can click the desired choice. This also helps avoiding "Switch Retry" error messages.

  • When Mavim Manager is maximized and a chart is open and modified in Visio, closing Mavim Manager will now give Visio focus so save confirmation message box will be visible.

Fixed

  • Images in Generic Charts using fill patterns were published as black rectangles to the Mavim Portal.

  • It was not possible to resize the lane headers in a horizontal Cross Functional Chart.

March 2024 | Version 10.38

New

  • In an ArchiMate chart, it is now possible to reset the visual styling of a shape to the initial configuration from the ArchiMate stencil.

Fixed

  • It was not possible to generate an Orchestration on a Sub-Process belonging to a Collaboration.

  • Adding new Called topics saved them incorrectly under a Domains folder.

  • In some cases, removing a relationship to an ArchiMate chart would cause an error in Mavim Manager.

  • In some cases, saving an ArchiMate chart would cause an error in Mavim Manager and Visio.

January 2024 | Version 10.37

Fixed

  • Sometimes changing topic types in the tree in Manager resulted in incorrect shapes in BPMN charts.

  • In BPMN charts expanding or collapsing a subprocess in a pool, disconnected its message flows.

  • BPMN charts always displayed all catalog tabs. Now they are filtered according to BPMN chart type.
